on 4/18/2009 Hello, Mike! I have carried around a rear rack for my bicycle for over a decade and decided today that it was high time I install it. With no instructions included with the race, I was genuinely clueless. It was not until I watched your video that I could begin to figure out just how to attach it. I watched your video just once and, voila, the rack is now on the the rear of my bike. THANK YOU!!!!

on 11/30/2008 Mike, I have the same problem as heidigrex. Except for I want to 1) purchase a bike rack in crome or brused silver with a clamp on it, that must also install using the seat post. I have a FUJI Monteray Female bike with 700 tires and finders. Can you help me out with where I can find a rack to fit my bike and how to intall it?

on 11/30/2008 okay........as far as the rear bolts, that hole is taken up already by my rear fender. And there are no holes on the bike where you show for the front bolts?????????

on 8/2/2008 Thanks, Mike.
I wish you addressed other mounting options. (I've got a GT Rapid Transit, cruiser looks, and I can't mount my old Pletscher with the clamp because the seat stays are so low. The rack you show bolts to the seat tube; I've seen other racks that do mount to the rear dropouts that apparently mount in front by clamping to the seat tube. I'm trying to figure out what rack is best for me. I'd prefer a bear-trap because I won't be using panniers, just throwing on a small bag.)

" Hi! This is Mike on behalf of expertvillage.com. For more information about bicycle maintenance please visit Prairie Path Cycles in Winfield, Illinois or visit our website at www.prairiepathcycles.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to install a rear rack on the back of your bike. And these really come in handy especially when you are going on long trips. You can pack extra food, extra water or even extra clothes. Now the first step what you are going to want to do is put the rear bolts through the threaded inserts on the frame. Now once you have both sides of the lower bolts snug up and ready to go then you are ready to move on to the next step, which is installing the bolts on the top. Now the racks will have these rods that come out and actually mount to the top of the rack and then into the top of the bike frame here. So similar to the bottom the next step you are going to want to put these top bolts in on the frame. And once you have the top bolts securely fastened, the last thing you do is level out your rack and then tighten up the bolts that are actually on to the rack. So just get the bike on the ground kind of give a little nudge in the back until you are rack is level with the ground, once it is, tighten up the bolts on top and then you are ready to go and that's all there is to it and that is how you install a rack on the back of a bike."
