"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. And now, we're going to go over Ambassador Laquatus. Laquatus, as you can see, meant to be from Latin and you're about to figure out why, because he has one and two blue. He has as much as a counter spell, once again, which makes him very powerful, very cheap. You can play him on the third turn, if not sooner if you can get your mana production straight. Now, here we have--he is a legendary creature, which means you're getting something really good. He's a merfolk wizard. He is from the basic set; he is from 10th edition, as you can see from the icon. He is a rare; he is 1/3 creature. Once again, he is a big defender. He is a very, very big defender. But on top of the fact that he is a very big defender that cannot be dealt with except by dealing him more than three damage or tearing him or something that destroys or bounces this creature. He is all about control as well. It goes very good in a control deck because his special ability, that you're basically getting for free, is that you pay three mana of any type and target player puts the top three cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard. Now, the reason this is very powerful is because you can do this as much as you have mana four. So if you have nine, you can do this three times, in which nine cards would go instantly from your opponent's library into their graveyard, which is very powerful especially if you are running millstones. Millstones often help you to mill somebody or mill somebody to death, because both can do damage for these cards and for things going into libraries. You can also play this card with a lot of other black cards that allow you and give you abilities for creatures in the graveyard. So this is a very powerful card from the blue set."
