"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Now, we're going to discuss Whirlpool Whelm. Now, this is--it's another control card out of the blue set from Lorwyn. This is a new card. It's the first time that it's ever been invented. It is one and a blue; it is an instant. Again, it means that you can play it during any phase of the game. What this does is you will clash with an opponent. Clashing is removing the top card of your library and revealing it and your opponent would do the same and whoever whose converted mana cost is higher--once again, converted mana cost is the combining of the number and how many land, specific land types, for instance the converted mana cost of this card is one and a blue which would equal two--now, whoever has the highest converted mana cost from the clash will win. If you win the clash, then that creature, target creature will instead of being bounced to the owner's hand, which is what it does, clash with an opponent, target creature, goes to his owner's hand. However, if you win the clash, then instead of having it just go the opponent's hand, you can put it back on top of the opponent's library, which means that next turn, you'll not know what is going to get off his library, you also know that that creature is going to come into play and you can save a specific counter spell or remove a [SOUNDS LIKE] soul form and that way you can officially get rid of him. It's a very powerful card, and it will cost you 20 to 25 cents at your local store."
