"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. And here, we're going to discuss Cancel. Cancel, as you can see, it's a blue spell. That's why it's called a color-utility spell. This is the ultimate utility spell for the blue deck. This is Cancel. This is counter spell. Counter spell used to be cheaper. Counter spell was a long time ago--they revamped the counter so it costs you one more. Now, here you go. It's one, two blue. It's an instant, straightforward, common. It will cost you 20-25 cents at any game store. If you're running a blue deck, you should have this in there. Regardless, you should have four. It's a very powerful thing, counter target spell. That's right. It counters target spells, so anytime your opponent plays any spell, it doesn't matter if it's a creature spell, enchantment, artifact, any spell can be countered with this card, regardless. You cannot counter the counter spell. So even in a blue deck, you cannot counter the counter spell, it does not go away, it does not come off the set. So essentially, this is one of the more--most powerful blue cards out there. And it's cheap. It's easy to use, and it only cost you 20-25 cents or a dollar for four."

on 1/20/2009 Sadly you clearly have no understanding of the rules of the game. As someone who has been playing for over 10 years, this video causes physical pain reminiscent of a stroke when I watch it (not to mention a tidal wave of vulgarity that I won't post). As a veteran "blue" player, I am repulsed by the fact that you think you cannot counter a cancel (or any other counter-type card for that matter). It's ability CAN be removed by the stack just like any other card. I find it hard to believe that you can ignore this fact. The only exceptions to this (which, simply by existing prove my point) are cards with "split-second" which declare that no new cards may be added to the stack (ie: to prevent counters and other responses). Abilities remain on the stack regardless... NOT CANCEL!!! The card is in fact only half decent, used only by type 2 tournament players, who are not allowed to use the far superior counterspell.
If you like, please post a reply-comment to try to justify this abhorrent statement (not that it's possible), as I am trying (without success) to pretend that this is intended to be humorous.

on 8/2/2008 And why can you not counter the counterspell? Is it not a spell? You said yourself it was a counterSPELL, so why would it be uncounterable? To my knowledge the only uncounterable counterspell is Last Word from Mirrodin block.
