"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi! I'm Mike with the Expert Village. And today, we're going to be discussing the black color from "Magic Gathering". And now I'm going to discuss "Lys Alana Scarblade". Lys Alana Scarblade is a very powerful creature Elf Assassin. Once again, if it's an assassin, it's going to do terrible damage and creature destruction to one of your opponent's creatures. It is an uncommon out of the Lorwyn set as we see from that insignia. Lys Alana Scarblade costs you 2 and a black to play, so 1/1 creature can cost you 2 and a black to play for 1/1 which is generally good, which means you're going to get an ability and the ability on this card is very powerful because this card has tap this card, discard an elf card from your hand and target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the number of elves you control. Now, once again the -X/-X is powerful because not only can it not be prevented, but it also means that the creature cannot be regenerated 'cause even if the creature is regenerated, that means it still an -X/-X and if that takes them below 0, it is still 0 so it cannot be regenerated, so and effectively, for discarding an elf card, you destroyed that card."
