"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Cephalid Constable. Cephalid Constable is a very, very powerful card. It's out of the basic set. It has been around since before Ice Age. It's one and two blue. He's a cephalid wizard which means he gets benefits from Cephalid benefits and wizard benefits, which means you could put him in either/or deck. He's a rare, out of the basic set, as you see here. He has a very, very cool ability. He's only a 1/1, and you pay three. But here's why, because whenever Cephalid Constable deals combat damage, which is damage dealt by attacking to a player then return up to that many target permanents to that player's hand. Now, when it says that many, it means the damage dealt. For instance, right here, his power is only one; however, you would play this and want to play it if you have things that boost him up like from other cards, from other wizard cards or Cephalid cards, or if you had any red or green you could always put this at an angle or a giant growth on him or even an unholy or holy strength because you want him to cause more damage so you can return permanents. Also it does not say that it's non-land permanent, so you could even return land, which is very essential if you're playing him because you can only play one land from your hand a turn."

on 1/20/2009 I'd first like to point out that I nearly had a seizure watching this... which I'm finding out, is a great talent you have. The entire concept of cephalids started in Odyssey, when the design team wanted to move from merfolk to a different type of blue staple creature. They came up with cephalids. Ice Age had NO CEPHALIDS!!! none before, none during! It was all MERFOLK MERFOLK and some big FISH!!!
