"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Sea Monster. Sea Monster is a very powerful card from the blue block. He's a serpent. Once again, think blue, think island, think sea, think water, and Sea Monster will definitely fit in there. He's a common. Once again, it's 20-25 cents. And he's very, very powerful. The reason he's very, very powerful is because you're getting 6/6 for the converted mana cost of six, which is very rare and almost never happens because the higher you go up, the more mana you're going to pay per point of damage. Now here, we see that, of course, because he's so cheap and cost efficient, he is going to have a downside. Now, the downside of this creature is that Sea Monster can't attack unless the defending player controls an island. Now, this is sort of like the reverse of island walk. This creature can only attack if your opponent has an island. Now, this creature card goes really well and you would play this if you're playing any abilities such as a merfolk ability to turn an island from a land that the opponent has or there are artifacts out there which you put counters on land and when the counter is on the land it will count as an island. So if you're playing those types of deck, then you would definitely need this card in it because it's so cheap to have a 6/6."
