"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we're going to be discussing the black color from "Magic: The Gathering". And now I'm going to discuss "Lord of the Pit" is one of the all-time powerful and favorite cards out of magic. It is a staple and signature card. Lord of the Pit is a rare out of the basic block and has always been a rare. It's a creature "Demon". It's a very rare creature type and does have a few cards out there that give demons benefits. And, the Lord of the Pit cost you 4 and 3 black to play. Now, it cost you 4 and 3 black to play and you're getting a 7/7, which means you are actually up on the converted mana cost to power/toughness ratio scale, and you are going to get 2 extra abilities because Lord of the Pit has flying and has trample, which means it can only be blocked by flying creatures and/or creatures with a reach, and has trample which means when blocked, if blocked by creature that does not absorb 7 damage, then the excess damage will be dealt to the opponent. However, since you're getting 2 extra benefits and basically instead him being a 6/6, he is a 7/7 for a converted mana cost of 7, he is going to have a downside. Now the downside of Lord of the Pit is that at the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice a creature other than Lord of the Pit. Now, if you do not or you cannot sacrifice a creature, then Lord of the Pit deals 7 damages directly to you. So, once again this is a creature card that you have to be very wary of when you playing because he will do 7 damages to you if you cannot sacrifice a creature during your upkeep. Keep this is mind when playing Lord of the Pit."
