"Hi this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. And now we're going to discuss, Regeneration. Regeneration is when a creature card either has the ability or can tap for an ability or you can play a spell, an instant, or an artifact with an ability to regenerate certain creatures that you have. For instance here, we have an instance where, someone has attacked with Provoke and they have decided that they want the Soulless One, the Zombie Avatar, which has strength and toughness equal to the number of Zombies in play. So, they are trying to get rid of the Zombie Avatar. They are having the 3/3 go up against, what is currently a 3/3, 1, 2, 3 Zombies in play. So, the damage would essentially take him out. However we have two open lands and this Zombie over here has pay 1 and a black, which you can do as many times, as long as you have sufficient manna. So right here we have 1 and a black open, all you have to do is tap 1 and a black and when damage resolution happens, the Zombie temporarily bounces into the graveyard and because of the regeneration bounces back into play and is not summoning sick because he was already in play. Although, during this turn he would not be allowed to block again because it is still during the first attack phase."

Maybe you should read the card called REGENERATION - Been here since Alpha, and left in 10th Edition - before you tell people what the ability regenerate does. Here's the reminder text - "(The next time that creature would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead tap it, remove all damage from it, and remove it from combat.)"
It never is put into a graveyard - thus no one will be able to use an ability that interacts with it being in a graveyard which is a strange thing to not know about, or at the least not tell us for some reason seeing as 'you' were playing a zombie deck which would flavorfully be running black spells like Zombify.
