"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Surgespanner. Surgespanner is two, two blue. He's a creature. He's a merfolk wizard, which means he gets benefits from both things that benefit merfolk and things that benefit wizard. He's a rare out of the Lorwyn set, which just came out, which is trying to bolster the ranks of merfolk. The reason he's a rare is because, yeah, he's just a little 2/2, but, once again, you paid two extra, which means he has to have a really cool ability. Well, the really cool ability is this. It's worth the two. Whenever Surgespanner becomes tapped, now this means that when he becomes tapped. Now, tapping can happen through attacking. Tapping can also happen--especially in the blue set you will see a lot of tap, untap abilities on cards and spells that tap and untap creatures--so you don't necessarily have to attack and put them in danger to tap them if you have other cards that will tap things. But when he becomes tapped, you may pay one and a blue. And if you pay this one and a blue, then you can return target permanent to its owner's hand. Once again, this is target permanent. This does not say target non-land permanent either. So in this instance, it's talking about turn four here, four mana or maybe sooner, that you can start returning things to the hand of your opponent."
