"Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. And now we're going to discuss the static ability, reach. The static ability reach is used for defense. It means that a certain creature, that normally you would not think could block flying, can in fact block flying. Now see, we have here, that I have attacked, once again, my opponent with the Lord of the Pit. It is a flying, trample, 7/7, demon. What happens here is that this creature can block because he has reach he can block the flying. However he can only block 4 damage of the 7 and Lord of the Pit still has trample. So, 3 of the damage is going to still get through to the target player. When damage resolution happens, Lord of the Pit taps, to indicate that he attacked and Tangle Spider goes to the opponents graveyard."
