"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Deeptread Merrow. Deeptread Merrow is from the Lorwyn block. He's a common. He's a merfolk rogue. Once again, merfolk, creatures of the race of merfolk, is trying to be brought up in this expansion. It would cost you one colorless and one blue. He's a 2/1, which is actually more beneficial because not only is he 2/1, he also has an ability, which means you're actually getting a point of damage or point of power for free because, in general, this would actually cost you two and a blue. But here, we have a nice little ability. It's a blue. Pay a blue, and Deeptread Merrow gains island walk. Now, island walk is that if your opponent controls an island, then he cannot block that which has island walk. Here, for instance, you can turn him in to having island walk. Once again, you get a free 2/1 guy which can be used as a blocker or if your opponent is playing islands, which is kind of heavy nowadays, then you would get the blue and you would turn him into island walk which make--would make him unblockable, and then you would get an automatic two points of damage every turn you attack with him."
