"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Merfolk Looter. Merfolk Looter, once again, is a common out of the basic set. He's a merfolk. Once again, as we see with the environment now, the merfolk deck is trying to make its way amongst the power of like the elf and the goblin deck. We have one and a blue. It's a 1/1 creature. But, once again, you paid for an ability and you're going to get a really cool one. Because here we have--if you tap him--it requires moving him--you draw a card then discard a card. Now, the reason you would play this ability is to try and cycle through your deck and cycle through cards you do not need. This is especially useful considering this card, the Merfolk Looter, comes out on your second turn or can come out sooner than that depending on your mana-play ability; but at least on your second turn, you can drop a 1/1 creature, which means he can block or you could get to use him constantly to draw a card and then discard a card. This is will siphon through your deck faster, and then you don't have to worry about playing on the draw. You will automatically get a choice of what cards you get to retain and cycling through your library faster than your opponent."
