"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we're going to be discussing the black color from "Magic: The Gathering". And now we're going to discuss "Hate Weaver". "Hate Weaver" is another powerful card out of the black color. It is 1 and a black to play. It is a zombie wizard, which means it gets benefits for zombies and benefits for wizards, and it is an uncommon out of your basic set. Now, here we have a converted mana cost of 2, 1 with a black and you're getting a 2/1 creature which is pretty much even mana production. However, this card also has a cool ability, where you pay 2 mana, and if you pay 2 mana, then target blue or red creature gets + 1/+ 0 until end of turn. This is what you call a "boost card" from a multicolored deck because this card is black, but it boosts up blue or red. So if you're running a black/red deck or a blue/black deck, then this card is very beneficial and you can spend as much mana as you want because this is not a tap effect, so if you pump this up by 6 mana, six, and each of these cost 2, so you will get this three times, and you will be able to put + 3/+ 0 on any blue or red creature."
