"Hi this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. Now we're going to go over non-basic land. Non-basic land are any land that is not in the basic group. These lands generally have special abilities. This land for instance, as it comes into play, you have to reveal a giant card or it comes into play tapped. And also tap this card and add either a fire or a mountain mana to your mana pool or a plains, with the little sun, mana to your mana pool. So this is a very powerful card. Hence why, if you look over here at the insignia, you'll see that the insignia, from the Low Wind group, is gold, which means that it is rare. Now over here we have another non-basic land, which is an artifact land. This land is an artifact as well as a land. Its ability comes in, does not come into play tapped, you can tap it to add a fire to your mana pool, but what makes it non-basic is that is says artifact land instead of just land. Once again the insignia you can see comes from the Scourge group and this pretty much meant for your artifact based swarm groups. Once again you must pay attention to both non-basic land and basic land because there are a lot of land spells that either apply to basic land or non-basic lands. It all comes down to reading the cards and knowing what is in play what is on the table."

on 8/2/2008 The Amphitheater isn't rare because it's powerful, rarity has nothing to do with power, except in the case of Limited. It's called "red mana" not "fire mana." Artifact lands are from Mirrodin, not Scourge. If you want to talk about something, try to know something about it.

their are many many diffrent names for mana some people call it fire others red and some even call it mountian
mirrodin came right after scourge making it an easy slip and their are some artifact lands in scourge as well
