"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. Here, we have Spiketail Hatchling. He's a drake, which, once again, you will see a lot in the blue set. It's basically the answer to dragons. There are no dragons in the blue set. It has one colorless and one blue to play. And he has flying. It's a 1/1 with flying. So again, when you put it down out there, second turn, and, once again, he has flying. So as long as your opponent does not have any creatures with flying or with reach, then this little creature can instantly hit your opponent in the head for one. Also, we have an extra ability that you're getting because, well, not only did you get flying, but you're getting a free ability, which, in this case, is sacrifice Spiketail Hatchling and you could counter target spell. Once again, blue is often known for countering spells, unless its owner pays one. This is actually a great move, because most players play spells and they use all the mana that is in front of them. Now, in this case, if all the mana is tapped, then the spell is going to get countered because the player cannot pay the extra one. Also, this is very useful for blocking the big, ginormous X-spells. This is your hurricanes, your fireballs, your blazes. These spells require lots and lots of mana, and players always tap all of their mana to pump the spell up."
