"Hi this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. And now we're going to go over basic land. Land creates mana. The basic types of land are plains, forest, islands, swamps, and mountains. The plains correlate with the white cards, the forests with the green cards, the islands with the blue cards, the swamp with the black cards and the mountains with the red cards. All the insignias match the mana costs on certain cards. The insignias correlate with the cards that need a specific mana type to play them. This insignia is the sun that correlates to the white cards. To play white spells you always need this. The tree insignia will be found on all the green spells and you will need this mana to complete those spells as well. Likewise with the water droplet, which accompanies the blue cards. The skull is on the swamp for the black cards. The mountains with the ring of fire, those are for the red cards. Then you will also find, in any combination, for your multicolored cards, having multiple insignias on them. Like white and green or black and blue or black and green or any combination of the two, up to and including all of them."
