"Hi this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. Now the different parts of the card go as follows: The name is in the upper left hand corner. This is a Serra Angel. The creature type or type of card, is found directly beneath it, after the picture. This is a creature card that happens to be an Angel. Over to the right of that you are going to find an insignia. This insignia indicates what edition block it came from or what expansions block it came from. Above that in the upper right hand corner, you are going to find its mana cost. Now the cost of this is 3 colorless and 2 plains to put this into play. The converted mana cost would be 5 because you have 3 colorless and 2 plains, 3 2=5. This is also a white card, as you can see from the border, that goes all the way around the card. The insignia also indicates the rarity of the card. If this was black, it would be a common card. If this was silver, it would be an uncommon card. This is gold. The gold cards are rare cards. The rare cards come one per booster pack. Here we see that once again, in the upper left hand corner you have the name. The name of this is Essence Drain. Beneath that after the picture you're going to have the type of card. This is sorcery, not a creature card, enchantment, instant, or interrupt. To the right of that you're going to have the insignia. This insignia is black, which means that is a common card. Commonly found in a lot of booster packs. Up in the right hand corner, again, we're going to have the cost. The cost of this card is 4 colorless and one swamp, to put this card into play. The border, that is around the card, is black. Which signifies that it came from the black color group."
