"MIKE LOPEZ: Hi, I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village and today we'll be discussing Heroscape and its expansion sets. And now we're going to go over using the base for your line of sight when attacking. Now, this is a rule that only applies when that creature is on a ladder. Here we have Syvarris, who is on a ladder and here is the creature directly beneath him. Now from his current line of sight, which is right here in his eyes, he would not be able to see this creature or this creature's vulnerable hit points. However, on a ladder this special rule allows you to use the edge of the base and that's any edge of the base all the way around. Looking straight down to see and target this creature's hit points. Now, once again, from various angles around here, you can see many angles of this creatures various hit points which means that Syvarris would be able to attack this creature using the line of sight through his base. And he must also remember that when doing this, that the distance in height does not matter for attacking in Heroscape unlike some games and you would be able to attack since they're essentially on the same top.
