How to Pick the Right-Sized Frame for Old Pictures

"When a customer comes to me, the first thing I ask them is what color is their wall is. I usually put it out here so we can get a clue about what it's going to look like setting on their wall. We're talking about size of frames. Right now this is about an 8 X 10 picture, it's fairly old and the color has been lost due to it's age. As I put this frame out here, the customer really wanted something big to make a dramatic statement on the wall. He chose this one and I thought man, that is awfully big. As you look down at it on the wall, you'll notice it over powers the picture. The colors are good but it really overpowers the picture. If you put too small of a picture frame on it, it will do the same thing. If you put the wrong picture frame on it, it will do bad things to it so it's all in trying different ones to see what is most comfortable to your eye. You need to kind of give a general thought too as what size you want to put on there."
