How to Spot Inside Flaws in Rare Books

"Hi, I’m Molly Mackey for Expert Village and now we’re going to talk a little bit about inside flaws and how to describe them properly. A lot of times we come across a book like this, heavy, heavy underlining, they go crazy and customers it’s been my experience really dislike this, so it’s very important that you mention it, that if a book has underlining if it’s heavy, this is a heavy example, if it’s just maybe one or two things kind of sparsely throughout the book, not that big a deal, you should probably mention that it’s just one or two pages, but when you come across something like this you definitely want to say heavy underlining. Another common thing that we’ll see inside books are stamps, and a lot of times these come from libraries or private libraries, things like that, definitely again, needs to be mentioned and you would just say owners stamp inside. Now if it’s a library book and there’s stamps all around, maybe a pocket with a withdraw stamp something like that, you definitely need to mention “this book is an ex-library withdrawn book” because it makes a huge difference in value to a customer.
