"Another thing a dealer needs to know is called splitting cards, so for example, if a player has two cards of the same num, numerical value, so for instance, the player here has nines, they will have to let the dealer know that they want to split those nines. So let’s say again, the players bet a hundred dollars and they say, “I would like to split.” The dealer will then, as, as you hear, split the nines. The player will then need to put another hundred dollars, match the bet, at the other nine. What the dealer needs to do, starting with the card on the left, they get one card up, Ah, another nine, so they can then, if they want, each new split constitutes a new hand. It’s their option, if they want to split nines again. So let’s say they want to split the nine again. So we have the bet, here’s another nine, we start with the card on the left, the dealer gives a new card, we have nineteen, it’s up to the player to decide if they want to stay on the nineteen, if they want to hit on the nineteen, without going over twenty-one, and those are their two decisions. The dealer will then go to the nine, hit again, oh, look, guess it’s set up in order. So let’s just say they stay on eighteen. Okay, we’re going to go to the other nine, hit, we have a sixteen, so they may want a card. So now they say, “dealer, give me a card”, the dealer then hits, ah, its gone over twenty-one, so this is a bust. The dealer will then take the cards, and take the bet. But just to let you know you can split any two cards, so you can split twos for example, again, put the bet up, match the bet, we have a hard here, aces are worth one or eleven, three or thirteen, they may want another hand, here’s another card. They have a thirteen, lets say they want to stay, we go to the card on the right, is a two, here’s a twelve, let’s say they want to hit, thirteen, let’s say they want another card, now they’ve busted. This hand is taken, the chip is taken. Just to reiterate, you can split on any two cards. "
