"My name is Malcolm Davis, I’m a professional Backgammon player. I’m here for expertvillage.com to hopefully teach you basically how to play. Now, I didn’t mention this, but this is a little nuance in the game. I’m in great danger of getting back gammoned. I am for sure gammoned. There’s only four numbers that will actually keep me from actually getting back gammoned. There’s nothing that will prevent me from getting gammoned. So let’s say that I roll two-two, there’s a two, there’s a two, there’s a two and there’s a two. I can’t get out, I’m back gammoned. Any two rolls and I get my opponents’ all his checkers off. I have one point left in his home board, I’m back gammoned I lose what they call a triple. If I rolled double threes to get out here then I would only lose two points which would be a gammon. To reiterate, there’s no roll that doesn’t take my opponent off right now, there’s nothing small enough he will always get these checkers off, so the game is basically over. It’s so simple actually; you can basically learn to play in fifteen minutes. But then you can do as I’ve done and spend thirty years trying to get better and better. And I’m still trying. I’m honored to be privileged to bring you this slight introduction to backgammon for expertvillage.com. It’s been a tremendous experience to travel around the world and play this game. If you start playing the game, I sure hope you enjoy it half as much as I have. Thank you. "
