"My name is Malcolm Davis, I’m a professional Backgammon player. I’m here for expertvillage.com to hopefully teach you basically how to play. So, we’ll go back, I believe this was the position, now let’s say he rolls six-six and here he comes. I believe I got this right, it doesn’t really matter, I’m just trying to illustrate a point. Now let’s say I roll some number two-four, now here’s the two and here’s the four. I can’t enter. If this were a six, I would bring this checker in here, it’s not a six, it’s a two so I can’t play. Now notice this, if my opponent rolls a six-five specifically, he doesn’t have a six, so he has to play the next number which is a five, then he has to play the five also. So that would leave him exposed and again, if I roll a five he’s in danger. This game is diabolical and fascinating because no matter how bad things seem, it’s amazing what happens in this games, it’s the most exciting and intense game that I know of in the world. But to make it simple, let’s say that he rolls double fives, so now he’ll take one, two, three, four numbers off, so he takes off the three fives since he doesn’t have anymore fives, he has to take off the four. The next number closest to the five. Now let’s say that I roll a four-five, so I bring the five in, I can’t bring the four in because he’s got it blocked. "
