Checker on the Roof in Backgammon

We’re going to fix my opponent’s roll, well I was going to fix it, but this is actually what I wanted to illustrate. This checker is on the roof, my opponent has rolled a five-four, notice it’s on the right hand side of the board for him, my left hand side and he has a choice. He has to enter in this segment or quadrant of the board before he can play another number, he has to use one of these numbers to come in as we say on the board. Well, he can either come in, this is his twenty point, but that’s a little confusing, so we’ll call it my four point because it’s a four. Excuse me, twenty-one point. The opposite point always add up to twenty-five. So he comes in on his twenty-one point and my four point, he has a five left. Well he sees his exposed what we call a blot out here, so he’s going to hit it. One, two, three, four, five. Notice he leaped over these points, he didn’t land on them.
