"My name is Malcolm Davis; I’m a professional Backgammon player. I’m here for expertvillage.com to hopefully interest you in this incredible game and teach you basically how to play. This is a backgammon board, on this board it has 24 pips alternate colors just for convenience. It’s played with what we call checkers, to start, you can go this way or you can go this way. Dice cups, dice, I’ll show you the basic position. This is red which in this case is me because checkers here have to come all the way around the board and get over here before the white side goes all the way around the board and gets over there and whoever gets all of his checkers off first wins the game. Now then, in this position, this is the initial position of Backgammon. This game can be played for money, it can be played for bragging rights, just for entertainment, it’s a diabolical game and be careful because if you play it with your wife or sweetheart or girlfriend you may cause some real conflict because people get upset."
