How to Make a Balloon Hat

" Hi everybody! Malik, the magic guy with expertvillage.com. Now we are going to make a basic hat. This is sometimes called the basic helmet. Some people call it the classic base because later on we are going to do more on hats and we are going to build on this design. I am actually going to show you 2. What you want is a balloon blown all the way up to the end. Now we are going to make 1 bubble right here and then you are going to, I’m assuming you are using a kid, I am going to measure this around the kids head. This is going to be where the head is right here. Then you are going to twist here and twist those together so you have this basic idea. We are going to make another bubble right here and then we are going to bring it down the middle and just twist it onto this spot. That makes the basic hat. Very stylish, you can wear it yourself. Now there is another hat that I like to do if you are working with just 1 balloon and this is pretty cool because kids like to wear this; I’ll show you why. You are going to do the same basic start and this would obviously be for a person with an extremely small head but you get the idea. We are going to twist here and make these into a loop. Now we are going to put a ball on the end of the balloon. The way I do that is I grab this in my hand, put my other hand here and I squeeze and it will just make a ball right there. The cool thing about this is if you give it a little bend, they can wear it pointing up like this or they can wear it this. They have like a head set going so that is kind of fun too. These are 2 styles of basic hats."
