Making balloon animals is a fun way to entertain kids of all ages. Balloon animals are made from inflated tubular balloons which are generally more elastic and stretchy than other balloons, and are tied, twisted and sculpted into various animal shapes. Many techniques are employed by balloon twisters, including weaving multiple balloons together to create more complicated forms. This video series will focus basic balloon modeling techniques and some basic animal shapes that can be formed using one balloon.
In these free videos you’ll learn how to make balloon animals from an expert balloon artist. Malik Haddadi demonstrates techniques for making basic animal shapes like a poodle, horse, monkey, swan, moose, rubber duckie, stegosaurus, brontosaurus and more. It’s fairly easy to learn and hours of fun for kids at birthday parties.
This series is an Equilibrio Films production.
" Hi everybody! This is Malik, the magic guy, with expertvillage.com. I am going to tell you about basic balloon sculpture. The most important thing is your balloons and you want to get the right kind. This is one of the major brands; this is called Qualatex and there is another brand called Bataltrex; they are both professional quality balloons. The main size we are going to be using is a 260; it looks like this. The reason it is called a 260 is that when you blow it up all the way it is 2 inches wide and 60 inches long. Now the hard part about Qualatex is where to get these. You want to order them from a professional supplier. There are going to be some links to a few different places on my website. You can order them and they will ship them to you. At first you are probably going to want to get what they call the assorted bag. It just has a bunch of different colors in it and then later on you can start buying bags of single colored balloons. It is also important that you want to keep them cool. You can refrigerate them, don’t want to let them get too hot and don’t leave them in a hot car in the summertime. We are going to go over more on pumps, tying and inflating a little later."
