Improv Comedy Games: What Are You Doing?

"Hey guys, we're here today learning how to play some fun, new improv warm ups for your improv team. And the next warm up that Dan and I are going to show you is a game called, "What are you doing"? To play what are you doing, you're going to want your improvising team to break up into groups, or pairs of two. Each pair is going to take a turn up on the stage, in acting some sort of scene work. Now if player one is doing some sort of scene work and player two is going to walk up and say "what are you doing"? And instead of answering with what he is actually doing, player one is going to say something, some sort of activity, that's completed unrelated to the scene work that he is doing. So if player one were jump roping and player two came up and said "what are you doing"? Player one would say something like, building a bird house. At that point and time, player two then has to do the thing that was said, and not the thing that he is watching somebody do. So, if player two said, "what are you doing"? Player one said "I'm building a bird house". Player two then starts building a bird house. Player one then asks, "hey, what are you doing"? The same thing, player two says, something completely unrelated and you just keep going back and forth, naming the next activity, that the other player is going to play. So, Dan and I are going to go ahead and get this started off. Dan you want to just want to start some sort of action and I'll ask you what you are doing. "Hey man, what are you doing"? "Oh, I'm eating and ice cream cone". "Oh, really, ok great". "Hey, what are you doing"? "Oh, me, I'm sawing this gigantic log in half". "Oh". "Hey man, what are you doing"? "I'm slaying a vampire". "Oh, nice". "What are you doing"? And that's how you play "what are you doing?""
