The board game Operation tests your hand-eye coordination with a serious of “operations” you must perform on the unfortunate “Cavity Sam” in an effort to out-earn your fellow doctors and specialists. Released by Milton Bradley in 1965, it is a board game which uses battery-operated, wire loop electronics to give the player a startling buzz when the Operation goes wrong. The players pull Doctor and Specialist cards from a stack, directing them to remove tiny plastic ailments from cavities in Sam's body with a steady hand. Video Transcript

"Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to learn how to play the game Operation. So in our first clip, let's go over the contents of the package. Let's start off with the contents of the package itself. Of course, we have our game board with Cavity Sam, our patient. And you can't perform surgery without your trusty tweezers. Now, we have 26 cards. They are either the doctor cards or the specialist cards. We'll get into more detail on those in an upcoming clip. We also have 12 fun anatomy parts that you'll be fishing around for in Cavity Sam in a later time. We'll talk about that as well. We also have some play money and rubber band that is also one of the parts too. Now that we've gone over the package contents, in our upcoming clip let's talk about the object of the game."
