"My name is Joseph S.C. Lee and I am the son of Mr. B.S. Lee. My father had founded this Calcutta Racing Pigeon Club in 1953. The pigeon racing came to India through the British when they were ruling India so all the British officers they brought all of the racing pigeons to India. They started keeping and formed clubs and started racing against themselves. In the meanwhile, some of the Jamindah and the landlords of the Indian are the rich people of India. They also picked up the hobby. Then they have formed clubs and started racing along with all of the British officers and all that. In the meantime my father was a very young boy. He was interested in keeping all the high flying pigeons like tomlers and all that. One day one of his friends came; his name was Mr. Charlie Madaro. He told my father, are you interested in seeing some racing pigeons. Then my father said okay, take me to one of the lofts. So he took my father to Albinidah's place. He was one of the grandson's of Ronnie Ross Monih. So when my father went and saw the pigeons he was so taken up about racing pigeons that he decided from that day on he would keep the racing pigeon. So when he came back he sold all of his tomlers and high flying pigeons and he went to Mr. Albinidahs. From Mr. Albinidahs he bought 4 pigeons (2 pairs of pigeons) and then he started breeding them and be bred some youngsters and started giving them training and then started taking them to distant places and tossing them and they were coming back; even they went to very far places and they come back. He was so fascinated so even his friends also started taking interest in the raising the pigeons. Then a few of his friends went and bought some pigeons from the market and started keeping and formed the club and started the pigeon race. "
