Quality Of Food for Raising Homing Pigeons

"My name is Joseph Shung Chiang Lee. I'm the member of Calcutta Racing Pigeon Club. Now I will speak about the food that most of the fans here in Calcutta, they give to the pigeons. They mostly give good quality, clean, hygienic food to the birds. They even buy the grains, pick up all of the bad grains and we feed only the quality grains and then the water, in fact most of the fancy they boil the water and give to the pigeons as to reduce the chance of getting disease. We feed mostly gram seeds which is highly hi-protein and then we add some soy bean oil, corn, wheat and during the rainy seasons we feed them oil seed like linseeds and sarsouand sunflower seeds. Also, a little bit of ground nuts to to help them to molt properly. Then during the breeding season, we concentrate more on high protein seeds like grams and soybean and a lot of people avoid giving corn because that do cause a little bit of mouth disease cause canker.
