"Hi, I'm Karen, for Expert Village. Okay, now we've pinned our zipper onto our seam allowance, placing the teeth beside the seam, and I'm going to, at this point, install our zipper foot. So remove the regular foot, and place the zipper foot in there. You want to make sure that the needle position is set in the proper place so that when the needle comes down, you can check it just by moving the flywheel - make sure that the needle is not going to hit the zipper foot, because that will break your needle. And make sure that it is in the right position. Now we're just going to baste our zipper in place, and we're sewing with the zipper foot, and we're going to baste the zipper tape to the seam allowance only. So you can use a basting stitch length, that's the largest stitch length you have, and remove the pins as you go, and make sure that you're staying on the seam allowance, and baste that all the way down. Okay, we'll cut our threads. Now we're going to finish the installation by topstitching."
