"Hi, I'm Karen, for Expert Village. Next we're going to place and pin the right side of the zipper to the right piece of the garment. This is what it looks like now. This is the left side that's been sewn on. And you want to place it right sides together, so you'll lay it down on the fabric like this. Now you want to make sure that you place the top of the zipper in the same measurement that you did on the left side of the garment. You want it, so that if you measured 3/4" or 5/8" from the top to the teeth, you want to do the exact same thing on the other side, or if your pattern marks where the top of the zipper should end, that's the exact position that you should place the top of the zipper. If you don't be very precise with this, then you can end up with a zipper that's installed a little bit off. So you want to make sure that you do place the top - that's very important placement. And you want to mark your fabric if you want to mark it, and place that in exactly the right spot. Okay, now again, on the right side of the garment, you want to match up the teeth with your marked seam allowance. On this side we did a machine basting, and I'm going to pin that so that the teeth line up exactly with our machine basting. Put in as many pins as you want, and again, at this point, you could baste the tape right here, if you're not confident about your pinning and sewing, you can baste it - it's always good to baste when you're not confident. And then you just pull the threads out when you're done. You're placing the right sides together, the right side of the zipper, to the right side of the garment, and this is on the right side, of the right garment, with the right teeth. You just have to let the rest of this, the left side, kind of fall, and keep it out of your way. And then we'll be sewing it on the machine."
