Video Transcript

"KAYLA BUCCOLA: Hi. My name is Kayla, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to hula hoop. Okay. So, first off, I'm going to tell you a little bit about hula hoop. Well, since kids long time ago in the 1800's, didn't really have toys, they used to make things, turn it into circles but just playing with sticks in circular objects. In Greece, they actually used dried olive vines and made it into a hula hoop and started this. In the 1950's is when the hula hoop really started to sail. It was the biggest fad ever. Kids of all ages and even grown ups were hula hooping. Even today, you could walk into a store and probably find a hula hoop but you should most likely try it in the summer because they're seasonal items. Hula hoops are great to exercise with. You could do all sorts of things to help you move your body. Let's say you want to run with it, you could jump rope with your hula hoop. Or you could even do a skip it. The smaller hula hoops are better for skipping as the bigger ones are better for jumping in. See? There are so many things you can do with the hula hoop, from just bring it around your hips and shaking or even dancing with it."
