" Hi! This is Ken and I’m here today to talk to you about Stratego. These pieces would be turned around, but so that you can see what I’m doing, I’ve got them turned towards my opponent. But they would be in the other position. I’ve got my flag totally surrounded by bombs. I only have 6 bombs all together, so do I want to waste them by putting them like this. So, sometimes what I do is I’ll take one of the higher ranking members and I’ll put him in place of a bomb. Because anybody that comes in here, like a lower ranking member, like a 5 or a 4. For my opponent, if they’re trying to find out who it is, they hit this guy and I say it’s nine, they get taken off the board. So, this can be an effective way to use my higher rank pieces. I also like to place my bombs toward the front or in the middle, because that confuses my opponent. I’m trying to make him guess where my flag is, so I don’t always put the flag here in the corner, because the opponent knows that the 2 favorite spots for putting the flag are the 2 corners or in the back middle. Sometimes I’ll be sneaky and put the flag even in the middle of the board. Thank you. "
