"I'm Kurt Glaser for Expert Village. We're finishing up our section here. Tonight we are going to go through and finish this part here, there's our antenna. We're going to get the signals going out of that thing and we're going to see what kind of qso's, or QSO's we can do tonight. So, bear with us and let's get started on that and let's have some fun actually broadcasting on out amateur radio, now that we are all set up. Okay, the first thing we are going to do is make sure that the frequency, listed right here, is free and clear. Let's do that first by calling out and just seeing if the frequency is clear. "This is N7QJM, is this frequency clear? N7QJM, Q, R , ZET." There is nobody on this frequency; we can now do some calls. What we are going to do is just make a simple call, it's called C-Q, C-Q, C-Q and then you give your call letters twice and sometimes you do it phonetically. That is probably another thing you should learn is the phonetic alphabet, like A is alpha, B is bravo, etcetera. So, let's try that right now. "N7QJM C-Q, C-Q, C-Q; from N7QJM, November 7 Quebec Juliet Mexico, N7QJM calling C-Q on twenty meters and bye." So, we just made a call on twenty meters."
