Photography is the art of capturing an image on a still frame of film. Light patterns from the object are recorded on the medium whether it be film or a microchip and are chemically or digitally developed to form a hard photograph. Photography is used for everything from science to art and is a vital part of our society today from security to traffic monitoring. The first photograph was taken some time in the 1820's and it required an 8 hour exposure to sunlight to develop the image. Since then modern advances have allowed us to see photos instantly on digital cameras and take more photos in a smaller amount of time than ever before and it doesn't seem to be slowing down.
In this free video series you will be introduced to the equipment you will need to become a professional photographer. You will learn about light, natural and unnatural, and how to use it to your advantage. You will learn many tips and techniques that will allow you to take better and better photos as you practice more and more. Photography is an art of capturing a moment. Like anything else that is a skill that must be honed.
