Summary: Talk to someone with experience when buying speed boat anchors and wax protection for a boat. Learn about buying anchors for speed boats in this free boating video from a speed boat salesman.
"Now these are some of the anchors that we were discussing. You can go anywhere from a standard size anchor which is typically for the eighteen or nineteen foot size boat, then you can go up from there, up to a boat that's actually considered thirty foot. So, what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to talk to someone that knows what they're talking about in the parts department, and get the right anchor, the right sized vest, the right sized rope, the right sized fire extinguisher for the speedboat you're looking at purchasing. Some of the things also you want to consider is the protecting of your boat and the interior and the components on the boat. Some of the things we offer is wax, which is a spray on wax that you can put on the axle outside of the fiberglass. And when you wipe it in it puts a coat on there of Carnauba wax where it actually doesn't allow the sun to oxidize the boat. And when I talk about oxidizing, it means if you have a blue boat and you look at some used boats which are four or five old, it's not blue anymore--it's like a faded blue. And that's because they didn't put the proper wax on there--keep a nice coat on there to protect it from the sun. Also they actually make some product that actually is for the upholstery. What you want to do is spray it on the upholstery for UV rays, and it keeps a stain resistant top coat on there, so if the kids spill something you can wipe it up, also keeps the sun from actually rotting your upholstery out. So those are some of the things you want to consider. One of the most important thing you want to do about buying a boat is make sure you guys are having fun, because if you're not having fun with your boat and your product, and you're not thinking ahead and making sure you're prepared for the drain plug and all that, you're going to have a lot more stress from your family than you're actually going to enjoy. So make sure you think ahead, you get a boater's checklist, you make sure you're Coast Guard regulated, and go out there and have a good day."
