"Standard on most motors and drives nowadays is the motors -- you get a V8 GM power plant, and you get an out-drive which is kind of like the transmission on a boat. That's what the props on and that's what spins when you give it gas the prop spins and that makes the boat go forward. Standard on that's about two years from a manufacturer. Lots of dealers that have been in business for a long time will actually offer you an extended warranty to go four years. Well now you've got a total package of six year warranty--it's about the maximum you're going to find on motors these days. On the hull and the fiberglass itself, a good manufacturer's going to offer you a lifetime warranty. Some manufacturers that aren't real sure about their product are going to give you a five to ten year warranty. Upholstery can vary anywhere from one year to five years, gauges can very anywhere from one year to lifetime warranty. Some of the gauges we use here are Faria gauges which have a lifetime warranty on them. That's a good product you want to stand behind--stuff like that. The different items in the boat will have different warranties. I mean, you've got to research that tremendously between products you'll find out who's giving you the best warranty, who stands behind their product the best. For example, the boat itself could be lifetime to ten years, the gauges could be lifetime to one year. The stereo company--you know, these boat manufacturers buy a lot of this equipment and install it on the boat, so they only warranty what the equipment manufacturer actually gives you. If it's an electronic compartment like the CD player, they might only give you a one year warranty. Well that's all you're going to get on almost all of the manufacturers out there. But where the speedboats warranty comes in as the most important is the fiberglass, the upholstery, and the motor."
