"In this segment, we're going to be covering the bet called exacta. Exacta is a bet on first and second coming in the order that you placed the bet in. So, if you placed an exacta bet one, two, it's going to need to come in, the first number that needs to come in is one, the second place number needs to be two. A way around this is if you box it, if you box it, then two, one would win and so would one, two. Adding more numbers will increase the amount of this bet. It generally starts off at about $2.00. Some tracks have $1.00 in very, very special situations. But that depends on the state and the track and what's running for that specific day. If you box an exacta, it turns into a quiniela that pays better. So it may be more beneficial if you know what series of numbers you think are going to come in first or second to actually play an exacta instead of a quiniela. They have better payouts, however, they do cost a little more. If you were interested in making an exacta box, you'd go up to the window and tell the teller the track, the amount of money, the bet exacta and you'd say you want to box it. And let's say you had a series of numbers, one, two, three, like in our earlier example. So now, as long as any of those number combinations that we had on the board earlier come in first, second, you don't have to worry about third, you'll win. And that's basically, an exacta."
