Knitting Two Stitches Together

"Hi I'm Jeanette White for Expert Village and Piper's Quilts and Comforts. Today we're going to be doing a knit two together. This slants your stitches toward the right. It's important because when you're constructing a garment you want the slant of the decreases to be toward the center, so this is how this is going to be done. I'm going to knit down to the last four stitches that I have on my needle, and the reason I'm doing that as opposed to doing the decreases on the very end, is that I want to have a clear channel so that when I go to assemble this when it's done my decreases won't be interfering. Here I have four stitches left on my needle. I'm going to insert my needle into two at the same time, and then I'm going to knit my last two stitches. And we can see here that this is slanting toward the inside which is what we want. That's how you do a knit two together."
