"Hi I'm Jeanette White on behalf of Expert Village and we're going to be doing continental knitting. We've already done our tension rig, so I'm going to loop this around my hand, just to quickly review, through my hand, between my index finger and my middle finger, and now I'm holding the yard in my left hand as opposed to European knitting, which is in your right hand. We're going to be doing on a knit side today, so I'm going to stab my stitch, pick up the yarn, push it through with my index finger on my left hand and pop it off. It's usually best if you do this in a four count to begin with. So here we go--one, two, three, four. You can see I'm using the tips of my index fingers on my left hand and my right hand for steps three and four. Let's do it one more time--one, two, three, four. This is very smooth and very fast--one, two three, four. With a little practice you can master this, and it's going to make your knitting a lot faster and a lot easier. That's how you do a continental stitch."
