"Let's talk about Pokemon types of energy. Now I have heard a lot of you going types of energy, what the heck are types of energy and what does it have to do with the game? Basically just like we eat or drink a Pokemon uses energy to fuel its body to use its attacks to walk to do whatever Pokemon does so when you use Pokemon in a game you need to have energy to give it to fuel its attacks. There are all different kinds of Pokemon and each Pokemon feeds on different kinds of energy. Sometimes one, sometimes two, maybe even three but usually it is just one or two. There are six basic types of energy, water energy, electric energy, leaf energy or Earth energy as it is sometimes called, fire energy, fighting energy and psychic energy. With the introduction of Diamond and Pearl or a little bit farther back than that but right now basic energies are including metal energy an dark energy. Also last but not least is colorless energy. Let's talk about how you tell what kind of energy a Pokemon uses. The easiest way is to look at the card. If you look up in the corner here it is going to have a little circle with the kind of energy that the Pokemon uses, the energy the Pokemon uses the most and sometimes it changes a little bit when you look down here for the attacks but this is the one that tells you what the type of energy you need to put in your deck is. Right now I am holding an electric type Pokemon and that is this little Pokemon guy here, he is an electric Pokemon and you will need electric energy."
