    There's a couple things you didn't mention about identifying counterfeits. If you flip over the card, you'll want to look at the Pokemon logo on the back. Official cards will all have a TM at the end of it. Most counterfeit cards omit the trademark symbol on their cards. Now, occasionally a card will have the TM, but could still be counterfeit. If this is the case, you have to check the gloss of the card. Official cards (Even shiny cards) have a matte finish on the back on each card. A large majority of counterfeit cards with have a glossy finish. Sometimes, however, even counterfeit cards have a matte finish, but even so, the matte finish is not identical to that of official cards. In my experience with counterfeited cards, if a card has a matte finish, check how the matte finish reflects light.
