"Becoming an expert at Hearts takes a lot of work. If you learn the game, even as a child, you have to take the time to practice, you have to learn the counting skills, you have to learn the discarding skills, and you have to learn to work with the people at the table. Now exhibit A is The Complete Win at Hearts by yours truly. The only Hearts book ever written way back in 1983 and then republished by Bicycle cards. I would definitely recommend getting this book and it isn't because I wrote it, if I didn't write it I would've gotten it myself and I've played a lot of Hearts. It will definitely help you improve your game and it's available on Amazon.com. Now, that taken aside, the other way to improve your game is to get to an online site, Grab.com comes to mind. I like Grab.com because it has great graphics and the people are pretty congenial and you'll have a great time playing there. There are other sites too, but we're not here to promote other sites. The main thing is to play online, practice your game, play with your friends and family, I know it's a very popular game in college dorms, and then when you're ready to come out to a live tournament you will have a confidence level. No you won't have the confidence of having a partner like in Spades, or Pinochle, or Euchre, but you will have the confidence of at least being able to hold your own against experts and basically practice, practice, practice, practice, and apply the techniques that you've seen in other segments of this video and you will have a better Hearts game."
