"Hi, we're back to passing strategy and effects on distribution. Obviously in the game of Spades or Pinochle or any of the other standard games, you could to a degree, but there's no passing in Euchre. Spades is a good example, Bid Whist and Bridge. The laws of distribution apply, in other words what are the probabilities of having six, seven, eight card suits, what are the probabilities of being dealt these unusual hands. That changes, goes out the window completely in hearts cause you're getting rid of almost twenty five percent of your hand, three thirteenths of your hand to be exact. So when you're passing three cards, you might wind up giving somebody an eight card suit that might have had five, you're adding three to them. So you grossly, drastically effect the distribution of the hand in hearts, so therefore what you can normally do in Spades for example and lead two rounds of diamonds might not apply to hearts because somebody might have voided themselves in diamonds and you get ripped with the queen of spades, so keep in mind that. As far as passing strategies concern in defensive passing, I've generally gone by this, but I'm not necessarily chained to it, I like to pass a middle heart, like a nine, or the ten, or the eight. And the reason I like to pass a middle heart, keep a higher heart, say the king or the ace. Let’s just say I'm keeping these and passing this one, I'm keeping one of these, is that when you pass a middle heart to somebody it dampens down their desire to want to shoot the moon, because even if they eat the queen of spades, or take the queen of spades."
