" I’m Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com, and today we’re going to discuss flourishes. That’s known as a twirl move, and basically it’s just a added thing. It’s a way to reveal a card. Say you found their card in the deck and you bring it to the top, and you just want to give it a twirl first before showing it. The way to do it is you want to find the bouncing point of the card. Again, this is kind of difficult to do slow because it works by the actual force of it’s using spin. Your finger’s going to be in the center on the bottom, the middle finger. Your thumb will be on top. Your first finger is going to give it a twirl, like that so to speak, as your middle finger stays where it’s at and your thumb lifts up. As you spin, you have to be careful about these corners that come around aren’t hitting the crotch of your thumb. So you want to do it kind of out away from the body, and just give it a spin. I’ll do it slow so you can see from the bottom thumb on top, first finger just spins. Doing it slow, is more likely to fall, so you just have to give it a this type of thing. So practice that. It’s just one of those extra things called a twirl that you can use to reveal a spectator’s card. "
