" I’m Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com, and today we’re going to discuss flourishes. This is a fancy cut whenever you just need to cut the deck and you just don’t want to make it look kind of boring; you want to add a little spice to it. You’ll pick up this portion, move this bottom portion to the side, and it’ll look like that. In regular motion, it looks like that. What’s happening is the top portion’s getting picked, the bottom packet, the corner stays in this palm, so that they’re held like so. The hand comes up, grabs with the middle finger and thumb this packet here, as this hand delivers this top packet here. It’s actual pivotal cut where you pivot up and get into this position where opposite corners are in opposite palms. The hand comes down to grab this packet, middle finger and thumb, and it swings back around. It’s just a one handed pivot cut, but it’s a fancier type of cut than just going like that. "
