" I’m Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com, and today we’re going to discuss flourishes. Those are just some basic deck flips. They’re just a good thing to add in between on some down time; you just do a flip. They look nice. You can also add them into your cuts and shuffles that we were doing where you can just do a Charlie and then just go into one packet will expand out, the other packet gets flipped, those types of things. The way to do that is holding the deck like you’re going to deal off cards. Your first finger goes below and kind of pushes out and up at the same time so that it’s kind of doing this type of thing. To do a half turn, you just loosely kind of rock at the wrist and flip at the same time, and they’ll just turn over. To do a full turn, you just add a little more pressure. It takes some practice to do, but you’re actually letting it rotate depending on the actual pressure that you apply to it. To do it with a full deck, which I recommend doing and practicing that way, half turn and a full turn. It just takes a knack of getting used to and a little bit of practice. To do is with packets, after you’ve practiced it with a full deck, it’s a lot easier to get those cards to flip around. You can do multiple three or four packet spins if you wanted, but just practice with an entire deck first. It’s not common that you people flipping an entire pack. "
